Kumar Purnima, also known as Sharad Purnima, is a traditional festival celebrated with great fervor and joy in the eastern parts of India, particularly in Odisha. Falling on the full moon day of the Ashwin month, this festival marks the end of the monsoon and the beginning of the harvest season. Young unmarried girls observe this day with the hope of securing a handsome and virtuous husband, much like the celestial gods, Kumar Kartikeya, the epitome of youthful charm and valor. Houses and courtyards are adorned with intricate rangolis and lamps, creating a mesmerizing spectacle that reflects the joyous spirit and cultural richness of this auspicious occasion. The night sky, bathed in the soft glow of the moon, serves as a beautiful reminder of the divine blessings and the cyclical harmony of nature.
Handcrafted using the traditional techniques from the Art of Pattachitra by master craftsmen from the quaint villages of Odisha. These sarees are a perfect amalgamation of Historic PattaChitra and the Heritage Craft of Handlooms. The pallu of these beautiful sarees adorns itself with beautiful Pattachitra paintings representing the Art, Craft and Culture
